HENNA Hair Color |WHAT IT Did to My HAIR
HENNA Hair Color | WHAT IT Did to my HAIR
HENNA hair color? You may have heard about it, perhaps its totally new to you. Today I want to only cover Henna color for your hair.
First a little bit of history on HENNA
Henna, (Lawsonia inermis, also known as hina, henna tree, mignonette tree, Egyptian privet) is derived from tropical shrubs and its flowering plant leaves, (grows 12-15 feet high and comes from the sole species of the Lawsonia genus). which grow in tropical and subtropical regions of Asia and Africa. The small pink, red, or white flowers of the shrub are needed for the process. Since the Bronze Age, people and tribes all over the world have used dried henna, finely ground into a powder, to dye skin, hair, fingernails, leather, and even wool. (resource of Google)
MY Own HAIR Color Story
As a young child my hair was a beautiful light, beach blonde. The perfect color blonde. As I reached my younger teen years it shifted slowly into a mousy, darker, ashy, blonde, no longer an attractive color, I would say. In the meantime, many of my peers experimented with box colors to lighten their hair or change the colors completely. So it began! A new found cycle started as easy as a box of blonde hair color from the store and about 30 Minutes of processing time. My adventure turned later on into subtle highlights from professional hair salons. An on and off relationship with box colors, hair salons and bleach packages began.
To safe money, for once and changing the tone of blondes, many trials turned my hair color into yellowish and try messed up hair strands. And so my hairstyles changed as well, from shoulder length to pixie cuts over the years. Two years ago and another hair salon professional recommended to me, to let the short sides and back go natural, (remember the mousy, ashy blonde?) and just keep my spiky short hair blonde! Yep!! This lasted for a few month.
Frustrated on how my hair looked and a chance of getting it healthy I turned to another hair girl, way younger, but very confident to make a change. We decided to go dark, with lots of red! OH BOY 🙁
WOW, I didn’t recognized myself
A step in the right direction, even it took a few days to get used to it. I’m still with my new hair girl, but decided after lots of research to give Henna Hair Color a try. Nervous and excited I dove right into it.
